The Fraley Festival is going on this week! September 5 – 8 at the Carter Caves State Park between Grayson and Olive Hill – about 4 miles from I-64.

If you can get yourself out to the Fraley Festival I am sure you’ll see the likes of Karly Dawn Higgins, Jesse Wells, Nikos Pappas, Jimmy McCown and his wife Ada and many others.

The Fraley Festival of Traditional Music isn’t like most festivals in that you will be hearing traditional old time mountain music, which although similar is also very different from bluegrass. I won’t be able to make it out to the Fraley Festival, and I dread not going. I do love bluegrass music and I go to every festival and event that I am able to.

The Morehead Old Time Music Festival (aka The Old Time Fiddler’s Convention) is probably my favorite event of the year so I am sure I would have a great time at the Fraley Fest. I do love that traditional old style stuff!
