About I Dig Bluegrass
I Dig Bluegrass is devoted to the furtherance of bluegrass music by helping to get the word out about Kentucky area bluegrass music including venues, festivals, and the bands and artists who make it happen.
Kentucky has long been associated with great bluegrass and there are still a lot of exceptionally talented young people entering bluegrass music these days. Many of them are destined to become tomorrows big names in bluegrass music.
I have been a fan of bluegrass music for many years. While I like a lot of different types of music bluegrass is my favorite and I especially love to hear it live. But I found it quite difficult to find out about bluegrass music in my area and often would hear about a killer show or festival just when it was too late to prepare to go or even when the event was already over.
I started up the I Dig Bluegrass blog in 2009 and started writing about bluegrass music and shows in the Kentucky area and posting a few pictures. My goal here is to help promote local musicians and venues.
You will notice a few advertisements on this blog. We earn very little from these ads but hopefully they will eventually help enough to cover hosting and other expenses required to keep the I Dig Bluegrass online and growing. Our primary sponsor is Amazon.com. I don’t want to try to sell you anything you don’t want but if you order from Amazon through this blog it will help out with our expenses.
