The ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band with Raymond McLain on vocal lead performs a song Raymond co-wrote with John Hartford called “A Dance In Old Kentucky”. Kentucky happens to be Raymond McLain’s home state and as of January 2010 he is back home in the “Bluegrass State” as Director of Morehead State University’s “Kentucky Center for Traditional Music” ( http://www.moreheadstate.edu/kctm/index.aspx?id=579 ). His former responsibilities at East Tennessee State University will be filled Dan Boner who performs with guitar in this number. Dan Boner’s title is ” Interim Director for the Bluegrass, Old Time and Country Music Program, Band Director-Country Band and Bluegrass Band, Voice Harmony, Individual Instruction “. Dan Boner was formerly Assistant Director of the program which has just recently started offering a Major in Bluegrass, Old Time, and Country Music.

This performance was in downtown Kingsport, Tennessee on Broad Street just across from the former CC&O Railway Station (now Citizens Bank) on 28 August 2009. This was the final concert in the 2009 “Bluegrass On Broad” free downtown concert series that traditionally concludes with a performance by the the ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band during “ETSU Pride Week” which corresponds with return of students for the Fall semester.
